A rainbow
and other thoughts
Thank you for reading Jasini’s Thoughts and Ideas
The other day, I was driving on my morning run when I saw a full rainbow, very bright. I don’t see full rainbows very often, usually just one leg or the other, or even less often, the top arch (and for the pedantics out there, Hello! it was not the full 360°, not even a full 180°). But this time, I saw the one leg shining brightly before me, then the highway turned a little bit, and I could see the rest of it shining just as brightly. It didn’t last long, of course, but I reveled in it while it lasted.
The highway construction continues apace. Note, I have little idea what they are actually doing, just that I see them out there working with the lanes closed.
The one bit I was complaining about earlier, where we drive down the exit ramp, and then get back on, with the turnings and signage set up so that it would be very easy for someone unfamiliar with the road to cross over the grassy area between the ramp and the highway, and end up hitting the wrong side of the guardrail. Pretend that’s a complete sentence. I did see a car on the wrong side of the guardrail once, and the guardrail is still crinkled at that point. But they’ve improved it, both by resurfacing and relining the detour lanes and putting up a series of orange pylons to help make the route easier to see.
It still wouldn’t surprise me to see another car on the wrong side of the guardrail before they finish working.
I’m continuing to work on the edit for Tolly and Glorina. It’s slow going, not the least because of things like broken fingers swallowing weeks, and other things we have to get done.
And also because we’ve been busy trying to get a bunch of stuff done. As well has having a whole house full at the moment.
But we will survive, we will thrive.
If not triumphantly, then somehow.
