Thank you for reading Jasini’s Thoughts and Ideas
The other night we were driving down by the Grandview Triangle. I saw a bunch of smoke in the air, and briefly wondered what was going on. Then we rounded a corner on the entrance ramp, and I had to slow way down after seeing a sea of red taillights in front of us. After a moment, I realized that though things were slowed down, they were not stopped, and that the slowdown wasn’t all that deep.
And then I saw the car. On the shoulder of the main section of the highway we were joining. It was totally engulfed in yellow and orange flames, the doors open or missing, and no police or other emergency vehicles there yet.
We got a bit closer, and saw several people milling around the grassy area, including at least one person on the phone.
I prayed that any people had gotten out in time.
Then the traffic sped up again.
On the way back, the fire was out, and there were multiple emergency vehicles around.
And the next morning we could see the car’s burnt-out husk still there.
Oddly enough, I can’t find any mention of a car fire or an accident in the news anywhere. A search brings up accidents from ten years ago, but nothing recent.

I've seen this a few times. Then again, I've driven professionally and used to put in over 50k miles a year. But yeah, it's always scary and you always hope. You always wonder too, but all you can do is pray.
