I’ve really been falling down on posting. I’m hoping to get back into doing it during the next two weeks. I don’t think it was laziness on my part. I think that me saying “I need to treat this as a job” turned off my creativity. So I’m not going to say that again. (And, naughty naughty, beginning four sentences in the first paragraph with “I”!)
But we have had a busy not so good week.
Monday night there was a windstorm. When my husband got to the house to work on it, he discovered that our heat pump was in pieces. At first he thought that the wind had done something to it, which really didn’t make sense. after all, we’ve had worse storms that didn’t touch the heat pump.
Then he discovered that the box for our mini-split (another heating/cooling device) was just gone, and the wires that had connected it to the house were sliced.
That link should go to a video of my husband narrating his discovery.
So, of course, it must have been stolen. And yes, we made a police report. Not that we expect anything to come of it.
Later that day, I drove my husband to a friend’s house. We were talking in the car, and kept talking for a few minutes after we got there, when we noticed this angry looking person glaring in the window. He started belligerently asking my husband who he was and what he was doing there. My husband asked what business of his it was, and the man said he had a right to know who was in front of his place of residence (Yes, he really said “place of residence”.) Meanwhile, our friend, and the real owner of the house was back on the porch trying to say it’s all right, I know him.
My husband got out of the car, and started walking towards the porch, and when he got to the porch, the other guy was in his face yelling at him, so he brushed him aside, and hit his hat. Suddenly three guys were on top of my husband, punching him. I called 911, but by the time I got through, they got spooked and ran off.
So we had a second police report in one day, and then got to spend several hours in the ER, first in the waiting room, and then back in the ER room, before he got the gash on his face glued.
It could have been far worse. He only has a lovely black eye, as well as a couple small gashes. Either they weren’t very good punchers, or they weren’t trying very hard.
This should be the video of my husband waiting in the ER to be seen.
Wednesday, my husband was resting to recover, then a bunch more stuff happened Thursday and today. That will probably be for another post.
Everyone take care.
