Sir Rhodri:
I had intended, upon hitting the publish button for my previous post, to get out a new post within the week, hopefully establishing a pace of at least two posts a week.
Instead, it is almost two weeks since my previous post. Blow after blow has rained upon us in that interval, and yet here we are: troubled on every hand, and yet not distressed, perplexed, but not in despair, sometimes persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed.
When I chronicled my misfortune at Worlds of Fun, I did not mention the next day where my Primary Care Physician accused me of “inappropriate behavior” in her office, raising her voice at me to complain about raising my voice in her office — when actually I had lowered my voice and never raised it at all. Her slander led me to place several calls that same day to her health system’s administrative offices until I finally got to report to someone the bullying and intimidation I had received, rather than just leave a message.
And then the day after my joy from Worlds of Fun, I received a letter in the mail from her health system, that totally ignored my complaint to them, and not only castigated me for “raising my voice” but also “cornering the provider”.
The intervening two weeks had been listless for me, I hadn’t felt well, had trouble getting anything done. I was just gaining energy, and WHAM, there was their letter. This time I was most definitely physically ill, and still have yet to fully recover my health.
But the biggest blow, was this past Sunday, when the County put the sign in our yard that heads up this post. We had been trying to put the funds together before the fire to insure the house, and then pay the taxes. The fire, and everything that followed, took every penny we could muster just to keep up with current living and renovation. And now we are less than a month away from having the property auctioned out from under us for back taxes. We need almost $7,000 to stop the auction in late August.
If you can help us, please do so. If you know someone who can, please let them know about our plight. I am including our Give/Send/Go campaign link below.
I had intended to write about something different, and will do so tomorrow. Hopefully I have a couple of days worth of wildlife focused posts coming up next week.
