Well, of the latest drama, round one of resolving it is done. We have a second round on Monday, then (in theory) one more round (at a yet unspecified date in the future) to completely resolve the matter, and then this particular bit of drama should be over.
Unfortunately, I expect another drama to blindside us in the months to come. It seems to be how the last few years have gone. What it is, and from what direction, I do not know.
Maybe I’m just being pessimistic.
Like I expected, the person we were filing against did not show up in court. We have a different court date set up for Monday, and I do expect him to be there, especially if he wants to get the rest of his stuff back. He may not, he might still prefer to have something to blame us for, and not make arrangements to get his stuff.
When we make arrangements to get him his stuff will be round three.
I had forgotten that that court requires no shorts. I had also forgotten that what I was wearing could be considered shorts. (They are long enough and broad enough that they could be considered split skirts. Fortunately, my presence wasn’t required. But I will have to make sure that I’m properly attired for my court date on Monday.
My husband got the ex parte that he was asking for. I was a bit surprised that he didn’t just get a continuance, since when he filled out the paperwork last week, the judge just gave him a court date, and not a temporary order.
When I filled out the paperwork a few days later, I got the ex parte then, and was able to have it served later that day. I think that they forgot that I was also a person of consequence in this house. Like I’ve complained before, I tend to be invisible.
