Thank you for reading Jasini’s Thoughts and Ideas
Well, it’s been over a week since I posted anything more than an occasional note. During that time, I’ve had 45 views, gained 1 subscriber, and about 4 followers. Substack has stopped giving so much helpful information on its subscriber page, so it’s harder to tell, exactly.
I will probably have another section of the Tolly & Glorina story up later, and may even put up an alternative version of the Prologue as well. If I do, I’ll put up the links to them here. I am sorry I missed 🌹Thorny Thursday🌹 this week. Though I don’t remember whether the next section would even qualify as romantic. I do know we have reached the point where everything starts crashing in around Glorina. Which I’m sure is no sure is no surprise to anyone.
I was asking my husband if the story was one worth the telling, and he thinks is, and is quite compelling. My erstwhile editor kept telling me that as well, but it was apparently not compelling enough to keep editing. She kept telling me for years that I was the next one she was going to edit. I’ve finally given up on it.
Once again, I have spent most of the last week not feeling well. I’m thinking it was mostly my body adjusting to the metformin. I’m feeling better (mostly) today. And even yesterday, but not enough to actually write something. I was sitting at the computer, knowing what it was I wanted to say, and not being able to do it. Most annoying.
I got the glucometer (and supplies) on Friday, which was one worry off my mind. We went to a larger pharmacy in the same brand, and the pharmacist was in the process of telling us that they don’t have one of those glucometers, and can’t even order them anymore (obviously the insurance company is behind the times), then interrupted herself mid-sentence, and said, “No, that’s not right. One just came in the other day.”
I also got the insulin pens on Thursday, but the needles didn’t come in until Monday. So that didn’t do much good. My blood sugar dropped 40 points after using the insulin pen for the first time. I wasn’t expecting to still be able to feel the injection area 48 hours after using the pen. It doesn’t hurt, really, more of a warm itching sensation. And itching really isn’t right, either. I don’t feel like scratching.
Well there is my update. I hope I wasn’t too boring.
You all take care of yourselves, ok?
