Thank you for reading Jasini’s Thoughts and Ideas
We had storms rolling in last night, early this morning. Mostly just rain. But around 10 this morning, we had several minutes of rain, with thunder and wind. I watched it really coming down. It didn’t quite undo the landscaping work out back my husband did in prepping for the storm, but he’s going to have to redo some of it yet again.
Then, as the storm ended, the rain going down to a sprinkle, and blue skies appearing in the west, the tornado sirens started going off.
I looked around, and really considered just ignoring the sirens, since the weather was looking so nice, but decided I needed to wake up my husband (who was sleeping since he had stayed up so late working outside), and get my son off his computer, and head us all down to the basement.
So, we sat down in the basement for a few minutes, then the sirens stopped, and we went back upstairs.
From various FB friends in the area, it seems that the storm was still going strong out by the airport, 15 miles away, when the sirens went off. They were necessary there. Here, not so much. But we’re all part of the same county, so they all went off.
In other news, I now have 40 subscribers, and a total of 99 followers. Within spitting distance of 100. I had long thought that I’d turn on paid subscriptions once I reached 100, so I might be doing that sometime this week.
My external hard drive is dying. And it shouldn’t be. It’s only a couple years old. I do have enough memory on the extra SD card on the computer itself to store everything, so when I can connect it (which is iffy, but still happens), I won’t lose anything. And anything that is important is already backed up to DrobBox.
I just don’t like doing that, since when my computer is hot, which it tends to run, it just disconnects, and I can’t access anything until it cools.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Glad you are all safe!
I would suggest opening up the computer and vacuuming it out REALLY well, make sure all the fans and heatsinks are all dust and fur free, you may be surprised at how much is in it. And that will start making it run really hot, and things start cutting out.
While it may not fix everything, it might extend the life a little longer.
