Oh man! I really wish I still lived in Missouri so I could offer actual help not just virtual hugs but I'm not giving up hope that somehow, at some point, this will work out. I have a bunch of questions but won't ask as yes, it sounds like you've gone through an enraging experience and just having to recite it all again to let others know is hard enough. Thanks for enduring the feelings again to share the news with us. Don't give up!
Hey Betsy, so much can happen in 6 days! Biblical proportions going on in my life so I will be required to move out of ,my home in NC for nearly a decade now and am trying to pull together an early move back to my church community in FL before the end of October. I will move all of my quilts with me but I will have to move into a storage unit so I won't be able to send you any quilts after all. Unless you want something RIGHT NOW and since you don't actually have a home yourselves, I am guessing not looking to collect more things to have to move around. Sorry. But I will keep you in prayer and in mind. I am drowning in my own chaos right now so will be unsubbing from the substack notifications. Just let Barb know if you guys want me to send you quilts once you land somewhere and as soon as *I* land somewhere and can find them in the storage unit, I would be happy to send you a couple of cheerful handmade quilts for keepsakes in your *new* home. :)
Thank you, Sarah. I'm sorry that your life is exciting at the moment as well. I will let you know when we have someplace long term temporary to stay. Hope your move goes as smoothly as possible.

All you can do is all that you're doing. I'm sorry you ran into some truly awful folks in this journey as the journey's hard enough as it is.
Wow, just wow. some people. Prayers and hugs.
Some people have no concept of honesty and integrity.
Err. What happened to your husband is technically assault and battery. The homeowner can be charged with a crime for doing that.
I hate that this has happened to you, and I wish I could help.
If you were in the Lone Star State, I'd be able to do more.
The police here don't seem to care.
