I'm not one to advocate church shopping but I can't help but wonder how Christian your group is. I'm sorry.

This echoes what I think too. My coworker was killed by Hamass on Oct 7 and her body left boobytrapped with grenades while her children were (briefly) kidnapped.

Those children have lost their mother for no reason other than they lived near the Gaza strip. That is way way worse than being near a mass-shooting

Do you know how the children are doing?

I will ask. The other coworker in Israel who knew the family well has been reactivated by the IDF and is busy helping do intelligence work to locate Hammass, hostages and so on. She actually resurfaced last night so hopefully I'll talk today and find out

One of the children is less than a year old so probably doesn't remember much. Adi (the coworker) was just back from maternity leave when Oct 7 happened. The other is (I think) 5. About that age anyway. I've been told he was having nightmares and sleep issues back in November

BTW you might want to give your prayer ladies a link to the document embedded here

But note:

The Consulate General of Israel to the Midwest distributed the report yesterday with the apt warning: *DISCLAIMER* This report contains graphic descriptions of sexual abuse, torture, and murder. That “disclaimer” understates the atrocities documented in the report.
